How to export your contacts from Podium

Podium is a conversation-led platform, so your most valuable asset there is the contact list those conversations built. Getting it out is the first step of any move.

What exports from Podium

Contact exports come out as a spreadsheet with names, phone numbers, and the contact details attached to your conversations. As of August 2026, export options live in the contacts area of the dashboard — Podium's help center has the current path, and their support team can produce an export if the self-serve option doesn't cover what you need. Practical notes:

1. Ask for opt-in data explicitly. The legally useful file records who consented to marketing messages, not just who ever messaged you. If the standard export doesn't include consent fields, request it — you want that column before your first send anywhere else.
2. Separate customers from one-off inquiries. Conversation platforms accumulate every webchat lead ever. Export everything, but plan to import the people who actually opted in to hear from you.

What doesn't carry over

Reviews are the big one: your Google reviews belong to your Google Business Profile and stay with you, but Podium's review-request history and tooling stay behind — and if reviews are central to how you win customers, that's genuinely a reason to reconsider the move. Webchat transcripts and phone tools also stay.
