How to export your contacts from Brevo

Brevo — many long-time users still know it as Sendinblue — keeps contact export simple, which fits the platform's honest, low-friction character. Here's what to know.

What exports from Brevo

Contacts export to CSV from the contacts area, per list or as a full export, with your attributes (Brevo's name for custom fields) included. As of August 2026 the export option sits in the contacts view — Brevo's help center has the current path. Get these right:

1. Export the subscription status. Blocklisted and unsubscribed contacts must stay flagged after the move; that's the file's most important column.
2. Keep the list structure visible. If your lists mean something (newsletter vs. customers vs. event leads), export per-list or make sure a list column survives — it becomes your tag/segment structure on the other side.
3. SMS consent is separate from email consent. If you used Brevo's SMS at all, confirm the export distinguishes the two; imports elsewhere should record them per channel, as ours does.

What doesn't carry over

Email automations, templates, and the Conversations inbox history stay behind. For most senders the automations are a welcome series and a couple of reminders — quick rebuilds anywhere. Transactional email setups need their own migration plan entirely.
